Data Backup

Regularly scheduled backups of the computer that is running Redactor is highly recommended. At a minimum, the Redactor data folder should be backed up on a regular basis.

Redactor Desktop data is stored in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Sighthound Redactor\. The username will most likely match the Windows username used to log into the computer. Backing up the data folder will ensure all redaction data (videos, objects, boxes, audio regions) is safe.

Note: If multiple Windows users are using Redactor, they will each have their own data folder that should also be backed up.

The Data Path is where Redactor stores all of the uploaded media, redaction data, exports, and other files. By default, it’s created in C:\ProgramData\Sighthound Redactor\, but it can be moved by providing a fully qualified path to an existing drive or folder. Adding this folder to your normal system backups will ensure all redaction data is safe.
